Headache

A headache is a common health issue that causes pain or discomfort in the head, scalp, or neck. It can vary in intensity, duration, and type. The most common types of headaches include tension headaches, migraines, and cluster headaches.

Tension headaches are the most frequent and are often triggered by stress, fatigue, or poor posture. The pain is usually described as a dull, aching sensation, often around the forehead or the back of the head. Migraines are more intense, often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light or sound. They can last for hours or even days, and their exact cause is not fully understood, although genetics and environmental triggers play a role. Cluster headaches are severe, sharp headaches that occur in cyclical patterns, usually on one side of the head, and are often accompanied by symptoms like a runny nose or watery eyes.

Headaches can also be secondary to other conditions like sinus infections, high blood pressure, or neurological disorders. Treatments depend on the cause and type, ranging from over-the-counter pain relievers to prescription medications for more severe cases, such as migraines. Lifestyle changes, stress management, and proper hydration can also help reduce the frequency and severity of headaches.
